^^View from the Moon Pyramid, the Sun pyramid is that beaut in the back.
Back in Mexico City, mis amigos!!! This time, aside from the amazing tacos/taquitos/chilaquiles/mole galore-we took the Saturday and headed out to Teotihuacan to explore the ancient Mesoamerican city!
Here are a few fun facts:
- First off, Teotihuacan is ENORMOUS and nobody really knows who built it.
-Large quantities of the mineral, Mica has been found here-yet, this mineral is only found in Brazil about 3,000 miles and a sea away. (Mica is in every structure in the Mesoamerican city)
-Teotihuacan is one of the largest cities in the ancient world with over 150,000 residents.
-Even more strange, nobody knows where these people wound up, the city was abandoned around 700 A.D with no trace at all, it's as if they disappeared.
-The Pyramid of the Sun is exactly half as tall as the Pyramid of Giza and the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Moon, and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl are in the same layout as Orion’s Belt.
If you are ever in Mexico City we definitely recommend taking a bus out to Teotihuacan, it will not disappoint!!
