Southern Chilean Patagonia

"If we were meant to stay in one place, we'd have roots instead of feet."

-Rachel Wolchin

When I was a little girl I dreamt of dilly dallying through true wilderness. I dreamt of exploring places around the world that are admired and protected from the commerce and destruction of man. Places where you can hear the wind singing between the mountains and rolling hills with the most beautiful shades of green. I dreamt of places where there were no roads or buildings, just nature in her truest form. In my opinion, the most beautiful things, are the things that are not molded and forced-but things that just simply, are. Patagonia is one of those things.

34 miles were hiked by myself, my husband and my Nikon D3400-up the hills, down the muddy slopes, in the snow, in the rain, in the warm sunshine, in the notorious winds. A good time was had.

Cordillera del Paine/Cerra Castillo

Grey Glacier is a glacier in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, just west of the Cordillera del Paine. It flows southward into the lake of the same name-Lago Grey.

Hiked along the Chilean/Argentenian border en route to Torres Del Paine (Towers of Blue). Sadly we didn't actually make it to the base of the towers-we were losing daylight and had to turn around to make it off the trail before sundown. We will definitely be re-hiking this route when we go back during their summer when the days are much longer!

Here are a few snips from our hike to Lake Nordenskjöld - So lovely.

Patagonia, I love you. I love you in all your crazy wilderness. You with all your dramatic winds and your frigid mornings that would make God himself grab a blanket. You're so hypnotic with your peaks that never seem to end and clouds that just won't stay put.

A lot of you have asked about what camera set up I use! Here is the link! In my opinion, for the quality, this is a very inexpensive option for someone looking to dabble without dropping a few zeros! I purchased additional lenses, tripod and other accessories which I will eventually make a post on! follow the link below for more specs on the camera and the lens bundle!
